Description:
“What is Assessment?” We use the general term assessment to refer to all those activities undertaken by teachers and their students in assessing themselves that provides information to be used as feedback to modify teaching and learning activities. Such assessment becomes formative assessment when the evidence is actually used to adapt the teaching to meet student needs. On 26th November 2015 for the self-assessment of the students an activity titled as “Target Plus Assessment” was held at the Junior Building of Loreto Convent Intermediate College, Lucknow. Self-assessment is essential for understanding of selves as learners, for an increasingly complex understanding of tasks and learning goals, and for strategic knowledge of how to go about improving. This activity helped the students in their assessment. The teachers played a very vital role in this activity by helping the students by guiding them. An assessment is an excellent way of learning for both the teacher and student. It not only helps a student in their improvement but also helps the teacher in improving their teaching methods.
