2 October 2018, the 149th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was marked with a lot of excitement and celebration in Loreto Convent Intermediate College.
The day began with a special Assembly which highlighted the life and times of Gandhi and more importantly the ideals that he always stood for thereafter, a quiz was organized for the students and it was heartening t to note that students were aware about Gandhiji and the contributions that he had made in our freedom struggle.
Perhaps the most noteworthy and pertinent activity of the day was a visit to the Jagriti School As a part of our Social Service initiative, Our students distributed Bata Keds and toiletries to the members of the special school. It was really very satisfying to note how our girls could empathize with and be a friend to people who are a little less fortunate than them. This is indeed the true Gandhian Spirit which is inculcated in all our students from a very young age so that they may grow up to become very humane, kind, considerate and sensitive citizen and take their rightful place in society as envisioned by Gandhiji.
Finally, a Colouring and Collage making competition was organized and it was a real joy to see our student's word wonders with paint, brush, and colours.
Indeed, it was a very meaningful and satisfying day with the children leading the way!
