We are deeply indebted to Mary Ward whose vision of education for girls was far
in advance of her time. Recognising the significance of education for women and
the important role they would play in society in the future, Mary Ward chose as
her special area of service on the education of girls. We carry on that tradition
the present day and are continually nourished by her spiritual insights.
With gratitude we recall our graced heritage: • To labour to extend His Glory
To live in an attitude of discernment seeking God
will in all
To make our own the values of His Kingdom:
… love … freedom … sincerity … justice …
It was on these graced insights
that
Mary Ward founded the Institute
and
they are inbuilt into all Loreto education today.
This is the spring
from which our educational apostolate draws
its inspiration
and
where we find the magnanimity and generosity
which
urges us to work for the coming of the kingdom.
