4th November 2025 was witness to a historic event when the Congregatio Jesu (CJ) and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM – Loreto) officially merged to become one congregation.

Following years of prayer, reflection, and discernment, this union brings together approximately 1,800 sisters worldwide who will continue to live and share the charism of our foundress, Venerable Mary Ward.

The merger became a canonical and legal reality at 12:00 PM CET (Rome time) on 4 November 2025, and was joyfully proclaimed during a special Mass in Loyola, Spain, presided over by Fr. Arturo Sosa SJ, General Superior of the Society of Jesus.

This moment marks a new chapter in the Mary Ward family’s mission of faith, service, and education — united in the spirit of Mary Ward’s vision, “to seek truth and do justice.”
