On 24th September 2024, as part of the JPIC (Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation) activity, a special talk was conducted at the junior school. The guest speaker, Mr. Aditya Kumar Pandey, an Assistant Engineer from the State Groundwater Department, delivered an informative and engaging session on *groundwater conservation*.
Mr. Pandey emphasized the critical importance of conserving groundwater, explaining how it is a precious and limited resource. His talk was aimed at inspiring the young students to become more *water-conscious* in their daily lives. He discussed various *ways to conserve water at home and in school*, providing practical tips for the students to implement. These included simple habits like turning off taps when not in use, fixing leaks promptly, and reusing water wherever possible.
In addition to water conservation, Mr. Pandey introduced the concept of *rainwater harvesting*, explaining how it helps replenish groundwater levels.
He concluded the session by encouraging the students to take a pledge to become *"water warriors"*—champions of water conservation in their homes, schools, and communities.
Overall, the talk was not only *informative* but also *inspirational*, leaving the students with a greater awareness of their role in conserving one of Earth’s most valuable resources—water.
The session was a successful initiative to instill environmental consciousness in the younger generation, encouraging them to be responsible citizens and guardians of natural resources.
