As part of an initiative led by the JPIC club of Loreto Convent Intermediate College, Lucknow, students engaged in meaningful acts of kindness, spreading warmth and joy within the community.
JUNIOR SCHOOL
On December 19, 2023, blankets were donated to the brothers of St. Paul's Seminary, Lucknow, and the Missionaries of Charity. The spirit of giving extended to the domestic staff of the school and other labourers involved in campus construction on December 20, 2023, by the students of Junior School . The primary goal was to sensitise young minds towards the 'Joy of Giving' and foster a spirit of service and dedication.
SENIOR SCHOOL
On December 7th and 9th, 2023, students from classes 5 to 9, in conjunction with Jagriti Loreto Vidyalaya students, created an activity board. On 12th of December Class IX-A visited Cheshire Old Age Home where they interacted with the residents and got to know about their routine, their hobbies and their likes. Donations were made and the students learnt the act of giving and service through this initiative which instilled the spirit of kindness and compassion in them.
On the 19th of December 2023, Classes XA and XB visited the Missionaries of Charity Sisters and Class XC visited the Missionaries of Charity Brothers. Students engaged in small entertainment programs, sang carols, and interacted with residents, sharing not only warmth but also essentials like woollens, food items, and groceries. The act of giving was accompanied by a profound experience for each student, fostering the true sense of humility and compassion in them. On the same day, Students from Classes 5 to 9 donated school bags and stationary boxes to the Jagriti students.Blankets were also given to bus and van drivers of the school.
In conclusion, the JPIC club's initiative exemplifies the impact of collective efforts on the community. The students, through their collaborative and compassionate endeavours, not only made a positive impact but also cultivated values that will endure and resonate within them for years to come.
